BSCB Working with Challenging Families

It is a requirement that you have attended either the BSCB's ‘Working Together’ or ‘Everyone’s Responsibility’ course before attending this course.
The aim of this course is to help practitioners from all agencies explore practical strategies for working with families who present particular challenges.
To identify the challenges presented in the behaviour of some families involved in the child protection process.
- To consider lessons to be learnt from Serious Case Reviews.
- To develop strategies which can be used by professionals to gain the co-operation of families.
- To discuss ways that professionals and agencies can work together in order to prevent dangerous practice and select appropriate joint responses in difficult circumstances.
Members of staff, from all disciplines, who have had the introduction to child protection training within their own agencies and have attended the ‘Working Together’ or ‘Everyone’s Responsibility’ course.
