The Family Outcomes Star is the single assessment tool of choice for all Early Help services in Buckinghamshire and has been adopted by the Buckinghamshire Safeguarding Children Board as part of the Early Help Strategy. It forms part of the Families First approach – single worker, single assessment and agreed action plan which all partners engage in delivering. This approach is particularly effective in coordinating services when working with families with multiple issues.
This outcomes tool enables organisations to measure and summarise change across a range of services and support families with different levels of need.
It is a key tool that can help parents identify and make changes by providing them with an action plan outlining what they need to do to be more effective and a provides a visual way of plotting their progress.
The Family Outcomes Star encourages parents to take responsibility for change that will enable their children to grow up healthy and resilient, and to thrive, even whist they tackle their own difficult issues such as health problems.
This one day training will cover:
- Using and completing the Star
- Using the Star to support change
- Data from the Star
- Introduction to the Star Online
- Building consistency
