BSCB Protecting Disabled Children

It is a requirement that you have attended either the BSCB's ‘Working Together’ or ‘Everyone’s Responsibility’ course before attending this course.
The aim of this course is to focus on the vulnerability of disabled children to significant harm and to consider how they can best be safeguarded.
By the end of the course participants should be able to:
- Examine the particular vulnerability of disabled children to all types of abuse.
- Recognise ways for staff to empower disabled children.
- Understand the increased relevance of effective multi-agency working with disabled children.
Members of staff, from all disciplines, who have had the introduction to child protection training within their own agencies and have attended the ‘Working Together’ or ‘Everyone’s Responsibility’ course.
This course may be of particular interest to staff that have direct involvement in working with families who have disabled children.
